Hangover Helpers

by | Mar 14, 2019 | Holidays

While we don’t recommend consuming cannabis and alcohol together, marijuana can quite possibly be your lifesaver after this weekend’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities and other future drinking adventures. Most of us have all been in that next day funk consisting of a headache, nausea and other various symptoms. We asked our budtenders for their expert opinion on four products that might make that hangover a little smoother. Cannabis has been known to aid as a pain reliever, it can stimulate the appetite, calms nausea and can help one get a restful nights sleep. We recommend grabbing a few of these products before your big weekend, but if it’s too late and you’re just now reading this, first, drink a full glass of water.

Stillwater Ripple Balanced 5: 1:1 CBD:THC

While we think that Ripple is good for just about anything, helping with a hangover is where it really can shine. When nursing a headache, you want to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. You’re already planning on drinking a lot of water or some drink with vitamins and electrolytes, mix in a low dose of CBD and THC, and you’ll be doing double duty, with half the work. If you’re finally up for food, you can continue to sprinkle Ripple on just about anything.

Mary’s Medicinals THCa Transdermal Patch

If you’re more about the ‘set it and forget it’ approach, then look into another cannabinoid profile patch from Mary’s, the THCa Transdermal patch. THCa is the raw form of THC meaning it is non-psychoactive. It often helps with insomnia, pain, nausea, and is an anti-inflammatory; sounds ideal for a hangover. The patches are simple to use while also discreet, convenient and reliable. Just apply to any venous area of the skin for best results for 8-12 hours of unsurpassed, systemic relief. If you thought it couldn’t get any better, it does. There’s only a 15-30-minute uptake time before you’ll start to feel any of the effects.

Grape God Bud from The Bank

Ah yes, sometimes nothing helps more than a bowl of a fresh flower. Especially if it’s a Clinic favorite, Grape God Bud, The Clinic’s first award-winning strain in 2010. Having lineage from Grapefruit x BC God Bud, this strain is known for its strong sedative effects, making this sweet indica perfect for a day of being stuck on your couch binging Netflix. GGB is also helpful for those suffering from chronic pain, inflammation, insomnia or nausea. Grab some flower for a bowl or roll up a joint.

Green Hornets 10mg Indica Mixed Berry Gummies

If you got a little too carried away the night before, perhaps eating something sweet is the last thing on your mind. However, these 10mg gummies will give you that relaxing body buzz you need to drift back asleep for just a little longer. The convenient blister packs make them easy to carry these around to consume throughout the day. Edibles always enter the bloodstream a little smoother giving you the perfect high to relax.

As cannabis continues to become more normalized, it will be interesting to see how many companies begin tailoring products around hangovers specifically. Just look at Pedialyte recognizing that it’s not just for the flu anymore and adults use it after drinking too much. It’s all about education and normalization. Pick up any one of these products before the weekend, or just talk to your favorite budtender for more reccomendations.
